Today the Iowa Senate passed HF2605, placing limits on the amount of THC per serving and per package that can be sold. The limits the legislature approved currently exclude every product that is on the market in Iowa. The push for this limit appears to be so that the state approved medical dispensary can have a monopoly on hemp derived products in the state. The bill immediately following this one removed the location limit for the medical dispensaries. This seems to be a blatantly anti-competition act, designed to devastate the current cannabis industry in Iowa and limit choice for the people.
These limits, if signed by the governor, will take effect on July 1st. We strongly urge anyone who sees these actions as the government overreach that they are, to contact the governor using the information provided below. Our voices must be heard, and they must say that we will not allow brazen acts to kill businesses, destroy Iowa jobs, and ignore the will of the people to stand. Please join us in fighting this legislation so that you may continue to enjoy your THC products at reasonable prices for many years to come.
